The77 Publications‘ new podcast with Mark Baumgarten, Vicky Jakubowski and Ben Cullis. Our guest in the inaugural episode is Steve Parkhouse, who discusses his life and career from his early work in British comics in the 70’s, his friendship with Ian Gibson through to his latest work on Predator for Dark Horse.
Mike Collins chats to Mark, Vicky and Ben about his 40 year career in comics and television. Mike’s primarily known for his work on TV and movie tie-in comics- for both Marvel, DC and on the celebrated UK weekly comic 2000 AD. As well as comics work, Mike is a storyboard artist for children’s TV shows, primarily the BAFTA winning Hana’s Helpline, and live-action film. He also storyboarded on the film Ultramarines: A Warhammer 40,000 Movie and on the television show Doctor Who. He has created two strips with Michael Powell for The77 Publications, ‘I Know The Story of the Alien‘ and ‘Matilda‘ for The77 Comic.
Mark, Vicky and Ben chat with Andrew Sawyers (aka Andrw Sawyers). Over the past 3 years Andrew has been Illustrator on The Cell and Silver Jubilee in The77, making his debut in issue two of The ‘77. His work has also featured in Shift, Pandora, This Comic is Haunted, Hardcore Hare and many others. He’s produced the album art for the Aggros (Cro Mags) and Vertical Noise. Originator of the Cyco Vision™ color STyle, coffee drinker, hardcore punk ‘Drokktober’ veteran, Andrew opens up about what is important to him on choosing what strips to work on and what he’s up to next.

Mark, Vicky and Ben chat with filmmaker Richee Mathwin who produced the animation for Ian Gibson’s Lifeboat advert.
Richee Mathwin was born in the North-Eastern English town of Hartlepool (a place that instilled in him a love of the juxtaposition between bleakness and beauty). He is a skilled Director and Editor. He has a BSC in Multimedia Technology from Leeds Metropolitan University and an MA in Film from the Northern Film School in Leeds.
He has since worked on broadcast television for ITV and Local TV and continues to work on his own and others projects splitting his time between film making and voluntary film making schemes.
As a freelance filmmaker Richee has worked on long and short-form documentaries, short films, live theatre, music videos, adverts for broadcast and web as well as news based factual films.
He currently live in Bradford and is working on his next short film with acclaimed rapper Testament as well as his first comic.

His 2000AD credits include Future-Shocks (written by Tom Watts and Honor Vincent), and Lowborn High (written by David Barnett). He is currently working with The77 Publications on multiple projects for The77, BLAZER! and This Comic is Haunted.

Mark, Vicky and Ben chat with Pat Mills about his 50 year career and his upcoming Kickstarter for ‘SHA! – The Shadow One‘ due out in early 2025. this was the first collaboration between dream-team Pat Mills & Olivier Ledroit (of Requiem Vampire Knight fame). Originally published in France, copies are hard to come by. It also had a short-lived, trade paperback release in the US with Heavy Metal, but is long out of print.
